Cooperative Bug Isolation Project builds of The GIMP 1.3.22 are now
available. Enjoy!

This release requires version 2.2.2 or later of gtk2. This is not our
decision: this change was made by The GIMP's developers. Ximian Desktop 2
offers a current enough gtk2 release, but stock Red Hat 9 does not. From
this point forward, our builds of The GIMP are recommended for use with
Ximian Desktop 2 only. Users of apt-rpm and yum will find that "gimp" has
moved from the "stock" package suite into the "ximian" suite.

You might be able to install these packages on stock Red Hat 9 by using
the "--force" rpm flag. We have not tried this ourselves and have no
information on whether or not it will work. Prior experience shows that
using "--force" to override rpm's rules is rarely a good idea in the long
term. The GIMP's developers added this requirement for a reason, and we
are disinclined to override their judgment.
