HPC downtime next Tuesday (Nov 7)

Dear CHTC users, 

 

This message is for users of our HPC cluster, logging into hpclogin3.chtc.wisc.edu

 

We are planning a short downtime of the HPC cluster on Tuesday, November 7. During the downtime, all worker nodes on the cluster will be down and no jobs will run. 

 

To prevent jobs from being interrupted, any job with a time request that will not finish before Tuesday’s downtime will not be allowed to start until after the downtime. These jobs will remain idle in the queue with the reason “ReqNodeNotAvail, Reserved for maintenance”.  This can be avoided by either reducing the run time limit (specified using `#SBATCH --time=days-hh:mm:ss`) or waiting for the end of the downtime.
