Yes Simics with Ruby runs many times slower than Simics alone.  The rate
of reduction depends on the configuration of Ruby as well as the speed of
the host machine.  The protocol MOSI_SMP_BROADCAST is a relatively fast
protocol, especially with only one processor.  However, a host with only
512MB of RAM is smaller than any host we've tried to run on.  Can you
find a machine with at least 1GB of RAM?  Also what is your host OS?
