Hi Brianna,

For this problem, go to your simics installation directory.
goto x86-linux/sys/lib folder.
remove or rename 'libgcc_s.so.1' file and try again.

The problem is because Simics uses its own libgcc_s.so.1 file instead of your systems libgcc_s.so file.
When you remove that file, it will search for system's libgcc_s.so file.

Hope this solves your problem.

Hi!

After following the quick start guide, I get an error

Error loading module 'ruby': Failed to load module 'ruby' ('/scratch/SimicsGems/gems/simics_3_workspace/x86-linux/lib/ruby.so'): "version `GCC_4.2.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6)"

This is similar to posts:

But there does not seem to be a solution.  I was wondering how people use GCC 3.4.x with gems. Unfortunately, I am at a school computer and cannot update to GCC 4.2.0.  What are my options?

Thanks in advance for any help!
Brianna
