Re: [Condor-users] Condor status Owner/Unclaimed

Thanks Anton,

I set START = TRUE and looks like all machines could be used

Hi,

The word Owner means that the computer is being used by its owner (either console or CPU active) and Condor won't use it. If the nodes you have are dedicated you should change the startd configuration according to the manual, otherwise it's okay.

Subject: [Condor-users] Condor status Owner/Unclaimed

Hello everyone,

I am trying to setup condor on pool of machines. Installation went through fine and I am able to submit jobs. But I seeing a problem
when I execute condor_status command I get the below output
Name          OpSys       Arch   State      Activity   LoadAv Mem   ActvtyTime

linux31       LINUX       INTEL  Owner      Idle       0.000  1033  0+00:00:16
linux38       LINUX       INTEL  Owner      Idle       3.960  2067  0+00:00:18
linux39       LINUX       INTEL  Unclaimed  Idle       0.000  2067  0+00:00:04

Here, the machines which has the status 'Owner' doesn't seem to pick up any job.
What could be the problem? Am I missing any configuration parameters? Could anyone throw some light on what 'State' means and the difference between Owner and Unclaimed?

thanks in advance,
Lohit
