Sorry, wrong error.  (I can fix this by setting the MEMORY value in 
users/condor/condor_config)

I don't what startd running on the central manager just on the the pool 
machines, which it is, but I'm not getting anything from condor_status and 
thus no jobs run.

There are a number of jobs in the que with 'no match' and I don't know if 
that's because there are no pool machines listed in condor_status or because 
they have a fault but either way they wouldn't be the cause of condor_status 
being empty would they?
