Well, I know that whatever you add to HOST_ALLOW_WRITE, you have to add to HOST_ALLOW_READ.  You may or may not need to allow them into your firewall as well, depending on how secure your server is.  I don't know of any other information needed.  Someone with more experience may know better:-(
