Hmmm. We're using the same set of binaries, in a Debian Etch environment.

# condor_version
$CondorVersion: 7.0.1 Feb 26 2008 BuildID: 76180 $
$CondorPlatform: X86_64-LINUX_RHEL3 $

While in top output sorted by virtmem (O-o) the processes are 3rd and 4th rank,
they don't exceed expectations:

  495 condor    20   0 74520  59m 2764 S    1  3.0 730:28.03 condor_negotiat
  492 condor    20   0 71548  56m 2564 S   47  2.8   5918:36 condor_collecto

We're not running CondorView though...

Negative :( If you can find out how to trigger this phenomenon? Any nonstandard
condor_config entries that look suspicious?
