We use a couple of tools which allow us to programmatically carve out
portions of our pool for testing purposes. 

1. - Wallaby (For pool provisioning and configuration)

2. - Tools built atop the wallaby API which allows us the ability to
carve out portions of the pool.
http://git.fedorahosted.org/git/?p=grid/albatross.git 

This gives us the ability to setup multiple pools which can then rejoin
the original once a test has completed.
