condor_status -schedd -l is good but it does not show idle jobs by users which is what I am looking for. Perhaps, we add this into 7.6 series.

I always do condor_q -global -direct schedd (I am using quill and I want to bypass it). I understand that can be costly but was wondering if there are tricks with the collector.

 

condor_status -claimed is nice but there is no way to get idle jobs.

condor_status -schedd

 

It'll give you a break down for each scheduler in your pool reporting running, idle and held jobs on each scheduler. It's not perfectly up to date, but it's a whole lot less problematic for your system than a condor_q -global call.
