Re: [Condor-users] condor v7.6.6 - installation issue

Thanks Thomas, that works!
Although it's still a bit of inconvenient for me but that's another story.

cheers,

Are you still trying to install from yum or have you downloaded the rpm seperately?

It's been a while since i've installed from rpm, but condor should be built as a relocatable rpm.
You can check that by running 'rpm -qpi condor*.rpm | grep -i Relocations'

If it's not i'd suggest downloading the binaries tar and using the condor_configure script. This method provides more flexibility that the package installs

Hope that helps

No problem Tom!

BTW, is the new version changed? Now I get:
error: package condor is not relocatable

If I try to install condor in specific location, which is big trouble for me. Can anyone make some comments (or suggestions) please?

Cheers,
Santanu

Ah I presumed you had downloaded the binaries and were using condor_install

Is there really a "--prefix"option in yum [install]?

Subject: [Condor-users] condor v7.6.6 - installation issue

Dear all,

I'm upgrading condor from v7.4.4 to v7.6.6 on RHEL5 based system, using
rpms from condor rhel5 repo. One thing I noticed that the default
installation doesn't put condor in the "/opt" directory any more. It's a
problem for me as all my scripts are based on "/opt/condor/..."
location. Is there a way to specify the installation location?

Cheers,
Santanu
