We are looking for a systems manager to join the Center for High Throughput Computing (CHTC), a center dedicated to advancing scientific discovery by delivering and promoting the use of large-scale distributed computing. The CHTC plays a major role in supporting research computing across the UW-Madison campus, including the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery, a new focal point for 21st century research. The successful candidate will provide a leadership role in the CHTC Infrastructure Team, a group of up to five people responsible for purchasing, installing, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining a campus-wide distributed high throughput computing infrastructure to meet the research needs of the faculty, staff and students of one of the nation's largest research universities.

Successful candidates must have at least five years experience with Linux systems management. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Candidates must enjoy working in a dynamic and flexible team environment and have a positive attitude. Candidates must be able to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate a history of self-motivation. Candidates must have experience managing the time and priorities of a team responsible for computing infrastructure.
