Re: [Condor-users] Ticket #1721 (hyperthreading bug for Win) resolved in 7.8.0?

The fix for #1721 went into 7.8.0.

As for mixed version pools. While we don't officially support that, but we work very hard to make sure that it works, and we often do mixed version pools ourselves. It happens
a lot when flocking.

In particular, we aren't aware of any reason why 7.6.8 worker nodes wouldn't work with 7.8.0 central manager. Of course, some 7.8 features will be unavailable, Some of the machinery for partitionable slots depends on changes in the execute nodes, as does support for IPv6, etc.

Hi,

I was wondering whether Condor 7.8.0 now works properly with regards to
the hyperthreading CPU detection bug for Windows. Ticket #1721 has been
resolved by Ziliang, but I don't know in which changelog to look for it.

Looking at [1] it seems to me like it did (as it's pre the 7.8.0 tag),
but I'm not sure whether it is or is not.

Another question regarding this is: Can I run some Condor 7.6.8 based
worker nodes (Windows) together with a 7.8.0 based master node? This
would be helpful for the migration process of the now fixed Condor release.
