Re: [HTCondor-users] config.d vs condor_config.local

Don't know if it is stable, but I would move to just using a config.d configuration. Seems like a more robust way to approach this.

I personally like the move to the config.d structure. It makes Condor configuration much more modular. You get to choose if a local config is "before" or "after", since the files are processed in lexigraphic order.ÂÂ 00local being the "first" zzlocal being "last"

Hi all,

quick question: the manual

"Next, HTCondor tries to load the local configuration file(s). The only
way to specify the local configuration file(s) is in the global
configuration file, with the LOCAL_CONFIG_FILE macro. If that macro is
not set, no local configuration file is used. This macro can be a list
of files or a single file.

If configured, HTCondor also uses the LOCAL_CONFIG_DIR setting get a
directory where a list of configuration files is held. The files are
searched for configuration settings."

condor_config_val -dump says

"Contributing configuration file(s):

# Â Â Â /etc/condor/config.d/10_config.wrk
# Â Â Â /etc/condor/config.d/20_config.cron

The order implied by the manual is

The order reported by condor_config_val is

So which is it? And is it stable or is it gonna change with the next
update? I'd like to know who would override who.
