Hi Kevin,

Since about a year or so, Condor uses the shared port by default (USE_SHARED_PORT=true).

When this is enabled, all condor daemons will utilize the same incoming TCP port; no ephemeral port range is needed.

If you are seeing daemons use ephemeral ports, then you may need to do some slight config adjustments.

Does Condor Collector expect to open any ephemeral ports and have others talk back to it?

I'm looking at some cluster management tools and service discovery and some use this kind of mechanism.
