[HTCondor-users] Non-condor Memory Usage Incorrectly Displayed

Hello Everyone,

This might be a misunderstanding on my part but I am seeing some unexpected behavior in regards to Condor’s reporting of memory on a Windows exec.  Currently we have a bigger memory box (512GB) that Condor is reporting has all its memory available via condor_status:

Name               OpSys      Arch   State     Activity LoadAv Mem     ActvtyTime

slot1@xxxxxxx WINDOWS    X86_64 Owner     Idle      0.130 524274  0+00:32:32

However when I look on the box itself I can see that some user is actually using ~300GB of the available memory.  I would expect condor to report that the available memory is actually ~200GB and not schedule any jobs that request more than the actual available memory.  However a simple job requesting 400GB of memory will successfully run on this box.  Is this expected behavior?  Am I misunderstanding how Condor handles available memory.

Some useful information regarding the exec

Condor version: 8.4.3

Partionable slots

OS: Windows 2012 R2

Please let me know if more info is needed
