[HTCondor-users] Ubuntu 16.04 setup

I installed condor on Ubuntu 16.04 from the repository. I just want to use "personal condor" on a single machine.

When I run:

condor_status

I get:

Error: communication error

CEDAR:6001:Failed to connect to <127.0.0.1:9618>

âI tried changing 127.0.0.1â to various other values in /etc/condor/config.d/00debconf

âBut nothing seems to fix the problem.

Can anyone please help me troubleshoot? Thanks in advance.
