[HTCondor-users] completed jobs in job queue

Hi all,

 

What controls how quickly completed jobs are cleared from the job queue?

 

We have users who use the output of condor_q to help them throttle the rate at which they submit jobs. Specifically, they look at the last line, e.g.,

 

5225 jobs; 89 completed, 0 removed, 4058 idle, 1078 running, 0 held, 0 suspended

 

When all is running well, the completed jobs seem to be cleared every minute or so, but in the worst case it can take up to a day (according to the users).

 

This is with 8.5.8.
