No it is not necessary to make the slots partitionable if each of your jobs uses 1 CPU or less.

Okay thanks, so if I want to run 8 jobs I will do

NUM_CPUS = $(DETECTED_CPUS) *4

but is it necessary to make the slots partitionable ?
