Re: [HTCondor-users] [EXTERNAL] Re: HTCondor on Amazon Linux

The last version HTCondor built for Amazon Linux 2 was 10.0.0.

So, using HTCondor 10.0.0 on Amazon Linux 2 unsupported at this time.

Something changed in the repositories, such that we could not build for Amazon Linux 2 after HTCondor version 10.0.0.

I would go exclusively with Amazon Linux 2023 at this point in time.

Thanks for making a fix Tim!

I believe this still means that the get_condor script will not work with Amazon Linux 2, since the script will attempt to install the latest version of condor, in this case v23. However, there is no RPM file when the OS is amzn2, e.g.: yum_repo_rpm=https://research.cs.wisc.edu/htcondor/repo/23.0/htcondor-release-current.amzn2.noarch.rpm

Is the intention to drop support for Amazon Linux 2 after condor v10? https://research.cs.wisc.edu/htcondor/repo/23.x/

Weâre still trying to decide if we want to support HTCondor on AL 2, AL 2023, or both, so itâd be great to know now if you guys are leaning in one direction or the other.
