In fact, GEMS assign different virtual_networks to different type of messages. These virtual_networks is like the virtual channels. However, a msg will not change its virtual_network during its whole life in network.

Hello all,
I wanted to figure out as to how are protocol level deadlocks avoided in
Gems. For instance,
if there are 3 message classes in the coherence protocol, having 3
separate networks (or virtual networks), avoids the deadlock. Gems just
has a single network and no virtual channels. So, how is the deadlock
avoided ?

Thanks,
Niket.
