Subject: [Gems-users] Configure Simics for host

Hello,

As suggested, I switch from simics 3 to simics2. I am using simics-2.2.19-x86-linux and following the instruction on “Setting up your GEMS environment” (http://www.cs.wisc.edu/gems/doc/wiki/moin.cgi/Setup), when I get to step 3, running the configure, and get an error.  At first I think this is due to I am not using bash. So I changed my shell to bash and error comes again. I am very new to Linux and GEMS, so I don’t know what’s going on there. What do you guys normally do when running in this step? Do I have to modify configure? BTW, my system is using gcc4.1 default and I have gcc-3.3 installed. I am using ubuntu.

Here is the output:

yzheng@yzheng-desktop:~/gems-release1.3.1/simics/x86-linux$ ../configure CC=gcc-3.3 CXX=g++-3.3
