The next release will use signatures from LogTM-SE for conflict detection, rather than RW Bits+Overflow bit. However the sticky-M and sticky-S directory states will still be present.

I'd reported a bug in the mailing list about LogTM one month ago, saying
that overflow bits never got reset on commit. But the bug report got no
reply at all. I hope it'll have been fixed on the next release.

Hi Matt,

We don't have a "tutorial" on the LogTM protocol and Ruby, but there's
a
short Wiki page on it:

   http://www.cs.wisc.edu/gems/doc/wiki/moin.cgi/Transactional_Memory

We are planning to release the next version of GEMS (mentioned at
HPCA07) sometime this fall. It will feature support for a single-chip
CMP LogTM protocol, physical and summary signatures, and many other
features/fixes.

We are currently actively working on the release.

Hi,

Is there an up to date tutorial that covers Ruby and the LogTM
protocols? I'm trying Ruby for the first time and am making slow, but
steady progress, as I'm having to trawl through the mailing lists...
perhaps I missed an easier route?

If there is such a tutorial I'd be grateful for the link. Also there was
mention of any updated Gems (2.0?) at HPCA07, any further news on a
likely release date?

Thanks
