Subject: [Gems-users] How can I use gems to do this?
Hi everyone,

I am trying to know whether I could use gems to do this experiment. Maybe someone can give me some advices.

I would like to know the traffic pattern in the network of a multi-processor system, using different benchmarks. So I would like to use garnet with fixed pipeline.

Here are my questions:

1. Should I use Microbenchmarks or Simics as the driver of Ruby? If I want to run benchmarks with different core numbers and network structures, then in Ruby, who is responsible for benchmark partition among cores?

2. In garnet, I want to know more information about every packet sent in every router. Can I record, say "source address, destination address, sent time" of every packet in every router to a file?

Any advice is welcome. Thanks a lot.

Jia
