GEMS is used to simulate memory models and coherence protocols. If what you would like to do is write a new coherence protocol, modify an existing one, or maybe add transactional memory or anything else that deals with caches, GEMS is for you.

Hi,
I have a very simple question about GEMS. Who use GEMS?
Someone that has a new model (memory or processor) or someone that
want to change existing parameters and see the results? If someone has
an idea to create a new model, does GEMS provide some means to develop
it?

Thanks,
