Re: [Condor-users] Condor on Linux and AMD Opteron?

Hi,
The 32 bit binaries (condor 6.6.7 i386) seem to work well on our AMD Operons with SuSE 9.0 Linux 2.4.21.

Hi,

is there somebody who has managed to run condor on AMD Opteron architecture
on Linux (preferable Debian) in 64 bit mode?

The binaries for i386 do not work correctly:

[root@faepop01 ~]# condor_init
Error determining who should own the Condor-related directories.
Either create a "condor" account, or set the CONDOR_IDS environment
variable to the valid uid.gid pair that should be used by Condor.

although user "condor" and his home directory seem to be ok:

[root@faepop01 ~]# finger condor
Login: condor Name: Condor workload management system
Directory: /home/condor/ Shell: /sbin/nologin

No mail.
No Plan.

[root@faepop01 ~]# id condor
uid=580(condor) gid=99(nobody) groups=99(nobody)

[root@faepop01 ~]# ls -la /home/
total 20
drwxrwsr-x 5 root staff 4096 2005-04-07 16:02 .
drwxr-xr-x 25 root root 4096 2005-03-29 22:02 ..
drwxr-sr-x 2 condor nobody 4096 2005-03-14 11:43 condor

Thanks,
Andreas
