I think I had something similar on an old debian install : 
Check that in /etc/hosts 127.0.0.1 only refers to localhost, and that its real IP refers to the name of the computer...

In my case I had : 

127.0.0.1 	localhost name_of_the_PC

I replaced it with : 
127.0.0.1 	localhost
my.pub.lic.ip 	name_of_the_PC name_of_the_PC.mydomain.org
