Are you on Linux?

If so, you may have a "limit" for corefiles.

Try typing in "limit" and see what it says, it might be that.

Hi,
	I'm trying to debug a problem where startd keeps crashing on my
compute nodes.  I'm trying to get it to produce a core file; I've turned
on CREATE_CORE_FILES, and startd has crashed with signal 11, but I can't
find the putative core files anywhere on the compute node.

Where should they be written to?  And if they're not being written
anywhere, any idea what to tweak to make them appear?
