I finally created a domain account with read permissions (condoruser@xxxxxxxxxx) over the network shares I am trying to work on. I added the credentials on each windows computer using the condor_store_cred command, I ran the job multiple time but It’s still failing, even though the share have unrestricted permissions to everyone (domain account) I gave them specific permission on those network share to  condoruser, below you mention the run_as_owner parameter, where do you add that, in the global condor_config file or in the description file, where do you have information on how to use it?

To give you a better feedback the syntax I follow to submit my jobs is the following:

condor_submit filename.txt –n computername.domain.com

Which generates an error log with the following messages:

Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.

Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.

That is because the batch file is written:

Alex,

 

Since you are using the batch file as the exe in your submit script and the run_as_owner parameter, you can try using the pushd and popd dos commands.

 

example batch:

________________________________

pushd //myserver/drive/location

command to run

popd

_________________________________

 

This has the effect of basically mapping the drive and then changing the local directory to the newly mapped drive. Popd then un-maps it and changes your current directory back to the previous current drive.

 

The only catch is that the user the job is running as must have permissions to the mapped drive.

Thank you so much for your answer, I will try the "run_as_owner" next time I run the job.  Concerning the use of mapped drives, I did try using the net use command, in fact I created an small batch file that mapped the network resource in all three windows computer using the same letter to have consistency but it didn’t work. The notification e-mail came back with the following:

1) You can use the submit file option "run_as_owner" on Windows to use the

domain accounts.  There is a section in the manual on how to configure the

credd daemon/service to allow you to do this.  There are also some

powerpoint slides from Condor Week 2007 that expands further on this:

2) If you are using batch files, you can always use the "net use" command to

map a new drive (see " net use /?" for more details.  If the drives are

already mapped, then as long as the drive names are consistent across

machines then you can use them as you would any regular drive.
