Re: [Condor-users] Host Startd and VM Startd

Hi Jaeyoung,

yes I installed Condor both on the Host machine and inside VM. but as given in Condor manual 3.12.6 is not telling about changes that can be done dynamically.

because I don't know the ip of the VMs that comes up and at which physical Host it going to comes up.

I am running any condor job in VM but some application need to be run. Condor is just for keep track of the VM  that's it

i) in jfrey_vm_tutorial.ppt (2008)  one slide (No 15) says like this

If Startds Know About Each Other

 - Host startd always defers to VM startd (never runs jobs)  (Can you explain this Point)

 - Possible solution
Write script to start or stop VM if active startd has no work  (active Startd refers to VM or HOST)

thanks

Hi Johnson..

Do you mean you installed Condor both on Host machine and inside VM?

I am not sure whether "Condor manual 3.12.6 Running Condor Jobs within
a VMware or Xen Virtual Machine Environment" is what you want.
