Re: [HTCondor-users] HTCondor 8.2.4 Released

On debian there is no such surprise. The condor_config.local will
remain in place (modified or not) when HTCondor is updated.
New installations of HTCondor on debian systems will not have
a condor_config.local file.

Hi Brian (and Condor Team):

The release notes say

The RPM and Debian distributions no longer include a configuration
file called condor_config.local, as this file is reserved for the use
of local administration.
This in my interpretation implies that installing a new version of the
package should never remove it *unless it's identical to the one that
has been installed by a previous version*.

I'm not sure how the Debian package would behave - but I'll certainly
find out soon :/
