[HTCondor-users] Failed to initialize user log

Seeing an odd issue today. A sunset of a 10k process submission went to held state because the jobs couldn't write to the log file.

For reasons yet unknown, the temporary directory that contained the log files disappeared. But even after recreating the directory, and even touching the log file, the job is held with "failed to initialize user log". Any suggestions on how I can shake these jobs loose?
