[HTCondor-users] Group quotas with guaranteed resources

Hi,

 

We’re implementing a htcondor pool with group quotas.

 

What we’re trying to achieve is a configuration that will guarantee a minimum of resources to each group and finally a group of resouces that is shared between all groups.

Something like this:

 

GROUP_QUOTA_group_Departments = 20

GROUP_QUOTA_group_Departments.A = 5

GROUP_QUOTA_group_Departments.B = 5

GROUP_QUOTA_group_Departments.C = 5

GROUP_QUOTA_group_Departments.Shared= 5

 

So for instance, if department A uses all it’s 5 CPU’s, it can still use the 5 Shared, but never the resources of Department B or C.

 

Is this doable?

 

We don’t have preemption activated because most of the work is done interactively and jobs can’t be stopped; we’re also using partitionable slots (don’t know if this matters).
