Hi,

I have installed condor on a single machine and would like to start it.

How did you go about the install?

If you want to install as root on a single machine via native packages (RPM, DEB) so all users on that one machine can us it (and so HTCondor can use Linux features to best isolate one job from another), suggest you enter the following as root:

 # curl -fsSL https://get.htcondor.org | sudo /bin/bash -s -- --no-dry-run

If you have Docker installed on your machine, another way to run a single machine HTCondor setup is to use the minicondor Docker image:

   $ docker run -it htcondor/mini bash
   # condor_master
   # adduser testuser
   # su - testuser
   $ condor_status
