Re: [Condor-users] Manual install procedure on Windows results in error 1067

Hi Ralph:

Unfortunately, the error message itself, 1067 ("The process terminated
unexpectedly") can mean many things. However, if you are setting up Condor
by hand, make sure to always double check the paths to the configuration
files in the registry. If these are wrong, then Condor will die in this

Subject: [Condor-users] Manual install procedure on Windows results in error

Using condor v. 6.8.3

Following the manual install procedure for Windows (" Manual
Installation Condor on Windows"), everything proceeded well until I
tried to start the service. I provided our own condor_config and
condor_config.local files after creating the registry entries and
issuing the sc create command. But upon starting the service, the
mysterious error 1067 came up.

So I reinstalled condor using the .msi file for the same version, and
not removing anything. That went well but I choose a manual start of
the service. Before starting the service, I copied our condor config
files over again, since the ones produced by the .msi installation don't
have what we want. This time the service started without any problem.

So what is it about the manual install that would produce error 1067?
