Re: [Condor-users] howto inject a classAd attribute?

Hi,
Thanks all for your help. I tried it and it works, but not exactly the way I want it:
I put:
    STARTD_ATTRS = W_RANK
W_RANK = Mips/(LoadAvg + 0.3)
into my condor_config.local and when I do:
    condor_status -xml gtx01 | less
I see:
    <a n="Machine"><s>gtx01.esrf.fr</s></a>
    <a n="Rank"><r>0.000000000000000E+00</r></a>
    <a n="CpuBusy"><e>((LoadAvg - CondorLoadAvg) &gt;= 20.000000)</e></a>
    <a n="COLLECTOR_HOST_STRING"><s>gtx01.esrf.fr</s></a>
    <a n="W_RANK"><e>Mips / (LoadAvg + 0.300000)</e></a>
    <a n="CondorVersion"><s>$CondorVersion: 6.7.19 May 10 2006 $</s></a>
    <a n="CondorPlatform"><s>$CondorPlatform: I386-LINUX_RH9 $</s></a>
    <a n="VirtualMachineID"><i>1</i></a>
But what I want is to see a real number that has the value of the _expression_ 'Mips/(LoadAvg+0.3)'. Like:
    <a n="W_RANK"><r>2.345000000000000E+03</r></a>

Is that possible?

Dieter (nice to hear from you again), some hints regarding
adding attributes are in the following Condor Week presentation:

Thanks for pointing that out. I admit that I haven't reread every page
of the manual since we moved here from 6.6 to 6.8 :-(

You also need to add the attribute to STARTD_EXPRS. For example

STARTD_EXPRS = COLLECTOR_HOST_STRING, WEIGHTED_RANK

Have a look in the global config file for a discussion of STARTD_EXPRS.

Heh, looks like we both posted at about the same time. I'd like to note that,
as the manual describes: "<SUBSYS>_EXPRS is a historic setting that functions
identically to <SUBSYS>_ATTRS. Use <SUBSYS>_ATTRS." Thus, you should use
STARTD_ATTRS instead of STARTD_EXPRS as we'll likely discontinue support for
the STARTD_EXPRS version at some point in future.
