Re: [Condor-users] Which firewall rules required on (Win XP) pool PCs?

Rob,

Take a look at these two Condor configuration settings:
ADD_WINDOWS_FIREWALL_EXCEPTION
WINDOWS_FIREWALL_FAILURE_RETRY

Based on what I have read, this is what Condor requires..

I hope this helps,
Michael

Hi,

I have a Linux master and a pool of Windows XP PCs.

The Windows XP PCs have Java and VMware installed, so that
they can serve Vanilla, Java, and VMware universe jobs.

The WIndows XP PCsI have a commercial firewall installed and
I have to open it for certain condor applications.

Currently I have the following in the "exceptions" list:

condor_kbdd.exe
condor_preen.exe
condor_vm-gahp.exe
condor_starter.exe
condor_dagman.exe
condor_startd.exe
condor_master.exe

but are ALL of these really needed to communicate through the firewall?
I wonder if I do quite a bit of overkill here...!?!

I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Thank you!

Rob.
