i don't know off the top of my head, and i will have to dig deeper, so stay
tuned for that.

in the meantime, i'm going to guess that the attributes were present, as you
showed, but for some reason they couldn't be verified.  are you relying on
certificates installed in a common place (/etc/grid-security or the like?) for
both HTCondor and the glite voms-proxy-init?
