I upgraded my ubuntu 10.04 to 12.04 and  used  this condor debian source: deb http://www.cs.wisc.edu/condor/debian/stable/ lenny contrib (from http://research.cs.wisc.edu/condor/manual/v7.8/3_2Installation.html#SECTION00427000000000000000).

found out 12.04 is too different from lenny. condor 7.8.1-43996 still relies on libkrb53 (>= 1.6.dfsg.2) but libkrb53 has been renamed to libkrb5-3 (version = 1.10+dfsg~beta1-2ubuntu0.1). Can you guys change its dependency?

That version of Condor is intended for Debian Lenny and we'd would rather not break our Lenny support for Ubuntu. Unfortunately, we don't officially support Ubuntu, so you're on your own. There are a few possibilities that might help:

1) You can try our Debian Squeeze package, which might help:

2) We have been working with folks in Debian to have Condor be an official part of the upcoming Debian release, and Condor 7.8.1 is in the Debian testing repository. This has the result that it's also in the Ubuntu Quantal release, so you can try that one in case it helps you out.

3) You can build Condor from source

I hope this helps!
