To avoid the firefox hassle below, and to hopefully present a more 
useful search (with options for relevance vs date, etc), I switched the 
htcondor-users archive search button to point instead to the search at 
gmane.  Check it out

Do folks like it better?  Should I keep the link this way?

p.s. for those who did not know, gmane is an internet service for 
archiving and possible reformatting email lists (as a web-style blog, 
RSS feed, usenet news group, etc).  it also has searching features :).  See
  http://dir.gmane.org/gmane.comp.distributed.condor.user
