Re: [HTCondor-users] [Condor-users] Install condor rpm with relocate

Dear Peter,

I tried to install condor 8.0.4 x86_64 with redhat rpm file on a CentOS 6 system with many different ways and options today but I get the same error messages all the times.

I suggest you that you should download the correct condor.tar.gz file and extract and use it. I think there are some differences between the standard package and redhat package. I don't know why but maybe there is a bug in the condor redhat 6 rpm package.

Best,
Dogan

Hi

Very much a newbie with condor and trying to learn fast.

I am trying to install condor to a particular directory (/opt/condor/condor-xxx) and have tried with CentOS 6.3 and 5.8 both with the same results.

When I do condor seems to install correctly but when I try to do service condor start, I get

mkdir: cannot create directory `FATAL: Unable to locate LOG in /opt/condor/condor-7.8.6/etc/condor/condor_config': No such file or directory
chown: cannot access `FATAL: Unable to locate LOG in /opt/condor/condor-7.8.6/etc/condor/condor_config': No such file or directory
FATAL: Required directory FATAL: Unable to locate LOG in /opt/condor/condor-7.8.6/etc/condor/condor_config does not exist, or is not a directory.

Any help would be appreciated!
