Hi Dimitri,

Yeah - the inclusion of LDAP caught my eye here too (tmpfiles.d is one of the very first things done at boot - way before network is setup).  From the man page, I notice that you can use a UID instead - does that fix things?

Are the failures logged in the journal for systemd-tmpfiles-setup.service?

Doing a bit of googling doesn't seem to offer packaging advice on this one.  In newer Fedora versions, they have mechanisms for registering system-level UID<->user mappings that are guaranteed to be present; no such thing exists in RHEL.
