As long as the part before the = is valid,  the config is "valid" and will not cause any daemon to abort.  So the missing bracket would not be expected to cause an abort.

Hi John,

the bug was within a variable for accounting subgroups [1] where I forgot one closing bracket. So in principle, the config should have been not properly closed regarding brackets??
