Re: [HTCondor-users] bulding deb package from source

Thank you Steffen,

I guess it's easier for us to maintain our fork of HTcondor over different versions on top of the git tree, instead of patching with quilt or patch.
Our fork contains 2 features (1 small addition to docker cmd API, one big for group quota preemption), and if we could submit it to the upstream version, that would be great.
we would then work with the main upstream repositoryÂpackages without the need for maintaining an out-of-tree version.
Till then I'll try your suggestion.
What's the procedure for submittingÂpatches upstream?
I did check the latest master branch and verified there are no alternatives for our additions.

Thanks,
Ido

Why don't you fetch the source package from e.g.
Âhttp://research.cs.wisc.edu/htcondor/ubuntu/8.8/bionic/pool/contrib/c/condor/
and pass it through your favourite builder (pbuilder, cowbuilder)?

Unless you're up for a long way of getting things right, this should be
fastest.

Cheers,
ÂSteffen
