RE: [condor-users] Run Unix scripts in Windows machines

The other, not-so-attractive, option is to translate the shell script into a dos batch script. But it takes a lot of tedious translation, and there are things you just can't do in dos. Also you could write the scripts in Perl and run them with ActivePerl on the Windows machines, but just as with cygwin, you'd have to install ActivePerl on each Windows box. Both of these solutions, though, are inferior to cygwin.

AFAIK,

The answer is no; you'll need cygwin. It might be possible to compile the
shell program with cygwin and install it standalone, however. I've done this
with other cygwin programs, but not with something as complicated as a
shell.

Basically, take the shell executable and cygwin.dll and copy them to another
machine, and see what happens when you try to run it.
