Francesco,
You should give a lot of scrutiny to your Ruby modifications. You can start by running Ruby's random tester for awhile. It is possible that your additions/modifications break Ruby when there are multiple concurrent requests from each processor in the memory system (i.e. with opal or the tester) but not when each processor limits itself to a single request (i.e. Simics+Ruby only).

Yes, I changed some files in Ruby to customize the profiler, is it a problem? Can't Opal run if Ruby files have been modified?
The Ruby only simulation runs perfectly.
