Re: [HTCondor-users] Installing CONDOR VIA YUM on CentOS

Hi,
I even tried for the baseurl; rhel7 to get following error:

[root@xxxxx]# yum --disablerepo="*" --enablerepo=htcondor-stable install condor

Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, langpacks

Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile

One of the configured repositories failed (HTCondor Stable RPM Repository for Redhat Enterprise Linux 7),

and yum doesn't have enough cached data to continue. At this point the only

safe thing yum can do is fail. There are a few ways to work "fix" this:

     1. Contact the upstream for the repository and get them to fix the problem.

     2. Reconfigure the baseurl/etc. for the repository, to point to a working

        upstream. This is most often useful if you are using a newer

        distribution release than is supported by the repository (and the

        packages for the previous distribution release still work).

     3. Disable the repository, so yum won't use it by default. Yum will then

        just ignore the repository until you permanently enable it again or use

        --enablerepo for temporary usage:

            yum-config-manager --disable htcondor-stable

     4. Configure the failing repository to be skipped, if it is unavailable.

        Note that yum will try to contact the repo. when it runs most commands,

        so will have to try and fail each time (and thus. yum will be be much

        slower). If it is a very temporary problem though, this is often a nice

        compromise:

            yum-config-manager --save --setopt=htcondor-stable.skip_if_unavailable=true

Note: I have tried all the normal options to solve this error, i.e Cleaning Metadata and all.

Somehow, you are trying to load from the RHEL6 repository for CentOS 7. The file that yum is looking for is in the RHEL7 repository. Does your htcondor repository file contain:

[htcondor-stable]
name=HTCondor Stable RPM Repository for Redhat Enterprise Linux 7
baseurl=http://research.cs.wisc.edu/htcondor/yum/stable/rhel7
enabled=1
gpgcheck=0

Check any reference to rhel6.

Also, you can drop the .x86_64 suffix.

  yum install condor

will do the job.

Subject: Installing CONDOR VIA YUM on CentOS

Hi,

I have followed steps to Install Condor, given in following link: http://research.cs.wisc.edu/htcondor/yum/

However, when hitting yum install condor.x86_64,  I am getting a 404 error.
The detailed log has been attached in the image.

I have tried usual debugging steps, Cleaned Metadata and also tried updating the context.

Still I am getting same error.

NOTE: I have tried replicating same steps for 3 CentOS 7 boxes, and all of them are failing.

Any help in this regards will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Vamshi Krishna
