Nah. It's still bad code. It always was. We just didn't realize how bad
it was back then.

Yes, well, that really is stupid. Directory services were invented
specifically for UID and GID consistency. If the systemd folks are too
narrow-minded to see that then systemd itself will eventually fall by
the wayside and it will be back to business as usual. If it manages to
succeed anyway then I'll migrate to FreeBSD as necessary.
